Key Factors That Drive Consistency in Gelatin Production

Insights, knowledge and news about halal gelatin, bloom grades, quality and the industries we serve.

Why Consistency Defines Great Gelatin

Consistency is the single most valued quality in gelatin. Formulators need the same bloom strength, viscosity and solubility in every shipment so their own products behave predictably from batch to batch.

Achieving that consistency depends on tight control of temperature, pH and time throughout processing. A shift of even a few degrees during extraction can change bloom strength by 20 to 30 grams, which is enough to affect texture in a finished product.

Every batch we produce is tested for bloom strength, viscosity, pH, moisture content and microbiological safety before it leaves our facility. These checks follow FSSC 22000, ISO 9001:2015, GMP and HACCP standards.

Our bloom strength range spans 60 to 300 grams, giving manufacturers precise control over the texture, chewiness and melt profile of their final formulation, whether that is a soft gum or a firm capsule shell.

Raw material screening starts before the hide or bone ever reaches our facility, with over 40 quality checkpoints tracked across the full production cycle to catch variation early.

Particle size and mesh grade are just as important as bloom strength. We mill our granules to a consistent 8 to 30 mesh range so dissolution rates stay predictable across large-volume production runs.

Moisture content is held between 9 and 12 percent, tight enough to protect shelf stability without compromising the fast, even dissolving that formulators expect during processing.

The result is a gelatin manufacturers can rely on, order after order, with less than 2 percent batch-to-batch variance across our core product lines.
